Fallen But Not Forgotten

A perfect fallen leaf, beautifully adorned by water droplets by the recent rain. To some, it might elicit a sense of maturity and finality as autumn slowly gives way to the dormancy of winter. To me however, I see it as a reminder of its vitally important role; providing organic nourishment back to the soil for the return of new life in the distant spring.
